Corruption (16 Jan 2009)

BEIJING, Jan. 13, 2009 (Xinhua) -- Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Tuesday urged the Party's anti-corruption body to "firmly correct official wrongdoings" that harm public interests.

"But what was dramatic about Fallujah was that it was not kept secret. So you could see on the front page of the New York Times , a big picture of the first major…step in the offensive, namely the capture of the Fallujah general hospital. And there's a picture of people lying on the ground, soldier guarding them, and then there's a story that tells that patients and doctors were taken from - patients were taken from their beds, patients and doctors were forced to lie on the floor and manacled, under guard, and the picture described it.

-- The president of the United States is subject to death penalty under US law for that crime - alone. I mean that's a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions, Geneva Conventions say explicitly and unambiguously that hospitals must be protected, hospitals and medical staff and patients must be protected by all combatants in any conflict. You couldn't have a more grave breach of the Geneva Conventions than that."

When the leadership is corrupt, then those down the chain of command are subject to corruption. If commanders tollerate rape, torture, drugs, disrespect of international conventions, soldiers pick this up; it's like openning a channel. The military first waited to see if Bush was to be elected before they committed the atrocities of Fallujah, Iraq.

Back at the beginning of the second U.S. offensive on Fallujah, that began on a fateful night in late November 2004, the United States military used strange new artillery shells that put up smoke like little mushroom clouds.

The operation had been planned out and was ready to go well in advance but was put on hold awaiting the outcome of the 2004 Bush/Kerry Presidential election for very apparent reasons.

Commanders just outside Fallujah were anxious to get started with the attack, and were worried about a delay if there were a long contested election outcome dispute like there was after the Gore-Bush election fiasco of 2000.

But the Fallujah commanders were happy and relieved when Kerry conceded so quickly, and they promptly got the go-ahead from Washington to commence the Fallujuh attack immediately after the election results were accepted.

Socialism which eliminates exploitation of workers is a higher development than capitalism which exploits workers, alienates them from the wealth which they create. Workers recognize this step of morality in those leaders that struggle for socialism and so there is less corruption. Here is a comparison of two countries, one in the socialist camp (China) and the other in the capitalist camp (USA or United States of America).

Total Recorded Crime per 100,000 Population*
